Spectra 2 Breast Pump

With my first child, I exclusively pumped from day 1 because she wouldn't latch. I began pumping in the hospital using the hospitals pump. When I got home, I started using my Spectra 2. I paid $30 with insurance through Aeroflow. My Spectra 2 came with a bag to carry around the pump and the accessories. I highly recommend getting your insurance covered pump through Aeroflow. They sent me new pump parts every month for the first 6 months. Using this pump, I immediately started getting more than I was in the hospital. (Partially because of milk coming in but it was also much easier to use.) This pump was easier to use than the hospital grade pump. I exclusively pumped with this pump for 10 months and it still worked great every time. This pump does have to plug into an outlet each time you use it. I also got an outlet converter so that I could pump in the car. There are a lot of parts to clean for this pump.  I was able to pump more than 6 ounces per side starting at about 2 weeks into pumping. This pump works very well. I also used this pump when I needed a break from breastfeeding my second child. It allowed my body to heal while still providing milk for my baby. This pump definitely makes me feel like I am emptying my breasts. I use this pump to help with clogged ducts, as well.  I purchased the Willow breast pump when I had my second child. Luckily, she took to breastfeeding almost immediately so I only had to use it on occasion.  The Spectra 2 allowed me to pump more milk than the Willow.

Overall, I would recommend this pump. It works very well but exclusively pumping is not ever going to feel really convenient.
