Fridababy Nosefrida Nasal Aspirator
I will start off by saying I 100% recommend the Nosefrida to anyone who has babies and young toddlers.
What comes in the box?
A Nasal aspirator and replacement filters.
You can also purchase one with saline solution in it.
How do you use it?
I suggest using saline spray or drops before using the Nosefrida. Before using the nose sucker, make sure that the filter is clean and in place. Next, place the end of the tube to your child's nostril. Lastly, you place the mouth piece in your mouth and suck.
(Make sure to clean immediately.)
When I first bought this product, I will admit I was skeptical. The thought of sucking snot out of your child's nose is repulsive, but when you have a congested newborn you are willing to try everything. My first child had a lot of congestion directly after birth and had allergies really early on. My husband and I tried with little success to use the bulb that they give you in the hospital. From the first use, we noticed immediate relief for our daughter. When using the Nosefrida, I recommend using some kind of saline spray. Saline spray loosens the congestion making it easier to get out.
I own two of these, one for each child. (Sharing just seemed really gross.) I am not going to lie to you and tell you this is something that your child will enjoy. Both of my children hated when we use the Nosefrida on them, but it helped them so much we did it anyway. As our girls get older, it is getting much more difficult to suck their nose because they turn their head and fight it. It is becoming a two man job, but we definitely use it when they are really congested to give them some quick relief. The product says for use from 0-9 years, but I cannot imagine trying to use this product on a 9 year old.
My youngest daughter got RSV at 10 days old and was hospitalized for 8 days. The doctors told us that young babies cannot breathe through their mouths, so congestion can make it very difficult for them to breathe. They gave us something that looked very similar to the nosefrida to use on her before every time that she ate. This made it much easier for her to eat and breathe.
All being considered, I recommend this product to parents of young kids.
I want to end by saying that I am not a doctor, so always follow your doctors recommendations on products for your children.
